On a ‘Criss and Cross’ road? Which way?

Hi, and welcome to Sew Blue Thread.

There is always a mystery as to what the finished quilt will look like. For me, there’s a randomness about it all. If the fabrics go together generally, then the finished look will take care of itself. This has been my process when making most quilts. Very rarely I try and match up the colourways, and patterning of the fabrics.

Introducing the new pattern, the ‘Criss & Cross quilt’.   With the beautiful contrasting red and white patterns within the fabric,  this Criss & Cross quilt is a ‘show off’.  The pdf pattern, ‘Criss & Cross’ quilt, is perfect for advanced beginner quilters, and quick to stitch together. The completed size is ’24″x 24″ and the quilt was made  using fat quarters.  Would look great on a morning tea table, wall hanging, sewers theme wall, housewarming gift, Anniversary gift, or Mothers’ Day.  Any fabric, any occasion.

You can find the Criss & Cross Quilt pattern here

Criss & Cross quilt is made up of 5 fat quarters, plus an extra fat quarter for around the diamond shapes and centre.  I put together a plain background, with a coloured/fancy background, side by side.  All in all, the quilt colouring in the Criss & Cross quilt, go alongside each other.  It just looks right.
