Ahoy the Anchors

Hi, and welcome to Sewbluethread.   Winter has arrived finally, and we’ve been getting plenty of chilly mornings.  Today I’d like to show you a mini quilt with a maritime twist.

This ‘Ahoy the Anchors’ quilted table topper or mini quilt was created using the Moda fabric line by April Rosenthal. The fabric is called SUMMERFEST, and it has been fairly easy to match the fabric pieces together.  Fabric shows fresh colours, variety of patterns/designs.  Straightforward instructions, and really, when deciding where to put each fabric piece, there really was no method. I decided to put the blue at the top of the anchor, green in the middle and red at the bottom. I think that this pattern lends itself to placing fabric in any design.

If you like this pattern, and have a basic knowledge of quilting/sewing, you might like to have a look at other patterns such as ‘Ahoy the sails

Sunny Shade‘ Summer umbrella pattern,

or a ‘Coconut Bay‘ Table Runner.

Perhaps you just might like something a little straightforward…

this easy mug rug pattern is just the thing..

‘Til next time.

Have fun sewing.

Marsha.
